I began to paint as a creative outlet in 1998 following a career as a Designer. My work is inspired by a play on perspective, proportion and bold color. I feel that by altering them, I invite the viewer to linger a bit longer and explore the unexpected.
Our home in Redland, Florida was nestled among nurseries and plantations. The migrant workers that worked these fields were my constant inspiration. Mounds of colorful dressings stood out as they worked among a sea of green.
I have combined my passion for creating and repurposing in these one-of-a-kind pieces. I honor the original 1800’s and early 1900’s black and white photographs by embellishing them with royal details in acrylic paint, creating a new life and purpose for them.
